After our adventure on the Masai Mara, We headed to another game Park called Lake Nakuru. This place is known for its Flamingos and Rhinos. We woke up early Tuesday morning and headed into the park with the group we were thrown together with. A couple of Brits and a couple of Finnish boys, it was great fun! Our driver was a seasoned Veteran at the helm, our first encounter was a black Rhino! These are very rare to see, so it was a treat! little did we know this park is filled with them. After our rhino sighting, we made our way to the lake, it was a magnificent view with the elegant silhouettes of the dancing pink flamingos.

our driver took us up to the view point that looked over the Lake, it was spectacular!
Black Rhinos!
A momma and baby Rhino
Daddy Rhino protecting his family
While we were watching the rhinos one of the big buses with people on it scared the mom and baby rhino and they stepped onto the other families territory and the daddy rhino got mad and started to fight the mom rhino (left) it was so scary because the male rhino jabbed the female rhino in the stomach.
Finally they started to run and the male rhino chased them for a mile or so.
These animals are massive! |
This rhino has a very long horn, this means she is very old.
